Horse Birthday Cake - Katie - Vegan cake

This cake was made especially for Katie's birthday party. Katie loves horses so what a better idea then a horse themed birthday cake. Katie is also a vegan. Therefore we had to challenge ourselves again to make a vegan cake. Being a vegan means you eat no animal products. Eggs and milk were out of the question. We had to use such ingredients as vegan cream cheese, vegan butter, vegan marshmallows, white vinegar, almond milk, apple sauce etc. as replacements. We found that although the cake (which we had to make more then once to get the recipe just perfect) was very dense it tasted just like our normal red velvet recipe. Another flavor addition to our cake flavor list! Vegan Red Velvet YUM!
