Mey's Daffodil Birthday Cake


After seeing our past flower cake, Mey requested that we make a similar cake for her. Instead of daisies, we opted to make daffodils. These flowers add a touch of elegance and youth, which are always a huge hit in any cake. Tip: to make the flowers look realistic, roll out the gumpaste thinly, but not too thin! If rolled out too thin, the petals could be too delicate to be placed on the cake and could shatter. Luster dust adds shine to the flowers, like morning dew!
