This birthday cake was made for a mermaid lovers birthday. This was our second attempt at sugar work. Instead of buying the isomalt we decided to use sugar that you can find in your house. We then added some cream of tar tar and water. Once you boil these ingredients together and reach a certain temperature (determined by a candy thermometer), your sugar is ready to be molded. We found this to be easier to work with then our previous attempt and the sugar was easier to handle once heated up. Happy Birthday!
