Monkey in bathtub 1st birthday cake - Adrain

For Adrians first birthday his parents had the brilliant idea to design a cake with a cute little monkey taking a bath and dancing in the bathtub. This cake allowed us to be very creative. To the left of the bathtub is a cute little stereo on a stool. Towels, rubber duckies, sugar blown bubbles, a shower, polka dots and a greeting finished this cake off. Inside this cake is a traditional strawberry shortcake to feed 80 people. Strawberry shortcake is not usually covered in fondant, you are probably use to seeing strawberry shortcake with strawberries pilled on-top. However we reworked the shortcake to be able to cover it with icing and fondant. We also provided 2 cans of whip cream because what is a strawberry shortcake without a bit of whip cream!
